Law of Attraction Overload Anonymous! (LOAOA)

Yes, I am a Law of Attraction coach, so you are probably wondering why the heck am I writing about Law of Attraction overload.   And especially the club LOAOA!  OK ... I just made that up.  I don't think that there really is an LOA Overload Anonymous group ... but there could be!

Do you ever feel like you go to every Law of Attraction seminar and tele-class in creation and yet you still feel like you are not getting any where?  You've read all the books, your library of self-help books is taking over your house, you have been doing all the Law of Attraction "exercises" and  ... nothing!

When you are in overwhelm with all this stuff, it's time to de-clutter your repertoire of LOA material and take a big step back, a big deep breath and stop the insanity!

You see, it's not because the Law of Attraction doesn't work ... it does.  But so many of us try so hard to change our lives for the better and are so desperate to "make" something happen, that we forget that it is all about "how we feel" that attracts things into our lives.

So, think about it ... let's say you are doing a Focus Wheel every day, envisioning your dream unfolding while doing your daily meditation, reading the latest inspirational Law of Attraction book you got your hands on, but at the end of the day or week you are still feeling frustrated.  What gives?

You guessed it ... it's that frustration that will get you all the time.  Your biggest job is to pay attention to your emotions and use that as your guidance system, your teacher, to move you up that vibrational scale.

The secret is also in the energy and space you come from when you are doing all these LOA exercises and educating yourself with all this material.  If you come from a desperate place of "this has to change or else ...", you can see where that may not be the "vibration" that is going to bring you what you want.  Matter of fact, it is going to do just the opposite.

I recently wrote an article for a magazine on "making peace with what is" and that is part of what you have to do in order to bring on more change.  It sounds counter-intuitive, but it is not.  You see, if you are resisting your current situation so much and desperately doing everything in your power to change it, while feeling frustrated that "you are not there yet", that will only lock your current situation in place and bring you even more of what you don't want.

So, do yourself a favor.  De-clutter your Law of Attraction and Self-help repertoire.  Only do a couple of the things that make you feel REALLY good and get rid of the rest.  Try it out.   Life is supposed to be fun.  Stop making it SO hard.  And make sure that you pay extra special attention to the energy you are coming from when you do anything that is part of your "pivot to the positive" tool kit.  Check in with your intention.   Ask yourself:

"Am I coming from a desperate place here?"

"Is this LOA exercise making me feel at peace, centered, hopeful or bringing more attention to the exact thing that I don't want?"

"Am I going to be disappointed if this doesn't manifest within a week, a month, etc.?"

(Hint:  That's a clue ... when you have a timeframe on your desires and you already know that if it doesn't come by then, you are going to be upset ... oops! That's a big no-no when it comes to the Law of Attraction.  You are more rooted in "lack" of it when you are keeping score and feeling bad about it not being here yet.  What you attract is 100% correlated with what you are focused on.  So, if you are more focused on "it's not here yet ... crap!", that's what you are going to get more of.

Stop throwing the Law of Attraction kitchen sink at all your goals.  Keep it simple.  Always remember to reach for a better feeling thought.  Make peace with what is.  Let go of the how.  And stop looking and keeping score that your goal has not been reached.  Chill out.

When you relax about it all and trust that your only job is to feel good, you will attract more positive things into your life than you ever could have imagined.

No laundry list of action steps required.

Life is a journey.  Enjoy it!

  1. Really enjoyed your post. You are spot on! People get frustrated, desperate even to make something happen and if it doesn't happen the way they envisioned then they are disappointed with others and themselves. Bam, self defeated and loss of joy.
